What is ChessCoda?
ChessCoda is a personal chess coach that studies your games to help you improve.
The idea
Every game you play says something about how you think: what you notice, what you miss, and where your habits help or hurt you. A good coach reads those signals and turns them into one clear thing to work on. That's what ChessCoda is built to do.
How it works
Bring in a game, and ChessCoda finds the moment that mattered most and explains it in plain language: what happened, why it was easy to miss, and what to look for next time. You get one lesson per game, matched to your level. A 900 and an 1800 receive genuinely different feedback, in vocabulary that fits what they already know.
Then the lesson becomes practice. ChessCoda looks across your recent games to spot the themes that keep coming back, and picks puzzles that train exactly those patterns. Some come from your own positions, and others are chosen because they teach the same idea. Over time it tracks which weaknesses are fading and which are new, so your practice always points at the thing most worth improving right now.
Everything is powered by the ChessCoda Coach Engine, which grounds every explanation in real analysis of the position.
Works with where you already play
Import your games from Lichess or Chess.com and keep playing where you love to play. ChessCoda is the coaching layer that sits alongside: review, one clear lesson, and practice tuned to you.
We won't promise rating points. Improvement comes from practice, and that part is yours. What ChessCoda promises is that your practice time is spent on the right things, and that you'll see your progress on them.
